These are way better in person……you can check them out in Sarah’s area at the store they are for sale. Part of me (Sarah) hopes that nobody wants them because I’m obsessed with them. Old cedar boards with the coolest knot holes and amazing textures and colors. I dug and sorted through hundreds of boards to find these. In addition l disassembled the NAILED fence they were with a crowbar, hammer, looooots of curse words, and back pain for a week. They are very secure on the backs. Personally I wouldn’t paint any of them….well there’s one that’s paintable. They are between 5’5” and about 6’ tall. Really solid well built dresser that just needed a refresh. The top and the sides were a laminate material so I used a bonding primer and painted them with Advance Satin with a bonder/hardener mixed in for extra strength. It was rolled and sanded between coats and has a beautiful and smooth finish. Then I lightly sanded the drawer fronts because they are veneer and if you sand too much, you will go through to the wood below and lose the beautiful woodgrain. New hardware, and the drawers were sealed with an oil based polyurethane to bring out the cool grain. We have ALL the supplies for you and ALL the knowledge to help you DIY your own furniture or you can have it done by Sarah. Happy Wednesday.

I don’t always have time to do private parties but I did have a super special one last night. Heather ordered oysters and everyone opened them and made pearl necklaces and earrings and we decorated little boxes for them to go in. It was such a great idea. Happy birthday Heather!!!!!

Flashback three years ago!!!!!! But had to share this was one of my favorite pieces to date. …..**Finished this Sophisticated Neutral piece finally. Thank you to Sue who trusted me with this and who was willing to let me take forever because I did. This piece was rough and needed peeling veneer stripped off from the top and bottom, sanding, cleaning, more sanding, lots of wood glue and clamps. It drives me nuts when people say you’ve “ruined” an antique when you paint it. 😝. Because people told me that with this piece 🤯.🤣 This will no longer be in storage but will be used and that’s a success in my mind. Primed this with Dixie Belle BOSS, painted with a custom mix 50/50 sawmill gravy and French linen, blended with coffee bean for the edges and straight coffee bean in the inside. Sealed everything with One of my favorite clear coats Dixie Belle Satin, then black waxed the details wiping most of it away to just add dimension. Used Dixie Belle Big Mamas Butta for the drawer glides so the don’t stick. I posted about unique color blocking a while back and here it is again!!!!!!! If you get tired of it no worries it’s just paint not permanent ⭐️❤️⭐️

Seriously smoooooooooooth. These are tables that will be used in a restaurant so I wanted to make sure I used a really good paint for this purpose. I chose Benjamin Moore Advance. I had Andy add a bonder even though it’s already super tough the extra bonder makes it 💪💪💪💪💪. For the prep I sanded, dusted, primed, sanded them again, and I did one coat of advance and let it dry, and then you can see the rest of the process in this video. I used 400 grit sandpaper to sand, then I vacuumed, and dusted really well, and then I like to use a very short nap roller for this, so I spread everything out and then I roll everything in One Direction. I work quickly so that the paint doesn’t dry but you can see the smooth finish I achieved as a result of this process. This paint is amazing for kitchen cabinets or trim as well.

I’m not saying to start NOW😂, but definitely after the Christmas season would be an excellent time to get your cabinets painted. I did ours at least 7 years ago and I still love them even though I want to paint them again to a different color. I did white on my uppers and gray on my lowers. If you have no idea where to start I’ll probably do a cabinet painting class in February. Thank you to all the wonderful humans who helped with the Adopt A Resident program. Debi was kind enough to include us this fall and we (and thank you to the ladies who helped us) made over 55 rustic fall pumpkins for every resident in long term care and they each got a card of encouragement. I almost cried the whole time during delivery because everyone was SO appreciative and wanted the hugs, smiles, and thoughts so so much. It really made me feel so humble we all need to do more for sure. Anyway here’s a shot of the delivery crew. Just wanted to do a follow up from our posts. Thank you SO much to everyone who donated. This class is going to be one of the most magical, relaxing, creative, and fun classes ever. There are so many possibilities for this class! We will teach you all about creating texture with paint using multiple layers, so many color possibilities, so many different accessories to choose from, including many of our own home made dried orange slices and other arrangements! You will not leave disappointed. The presents will be assembled and will be 12“ x 10 to 14 inches and if you want to stack them up to be a porch leaner we will help you hook them all together in the back so they would be between three and 4 feet depending on how you stack them. Class will probably take 3 ish hours. We will have light refreshments, but please feel free to bring anything you want to eat or drink. Find out more on the website. Ok well I had high hopes to have all classes online but I got the first class which will be Saturday November 18th at 1:00. Gail think class will take 4-5 hours but it goes fast and is SO fun. We will have light refreshments but you can always bring whatever you want as well. Where will you use the Benjamin Moore #ColorTrends2024 palette? Softly saturated with a nuanced approach to contrast, these ten colors take inspiration from hues found via adventures near or far. I spent some time today listening to how they came up with this color palette, and it was based largely on complementary colors, but not in a super saturated way…..rather more of a mid tone, mid to light value kind of way, which is a beautiful way to use contrasting colors/complementary colors. Two very very heart filling things to start off the week. We had a few CASA ladies come in to do a fun fall activity together AND we made almost 50 fence board pumpkins for adopt a resident program.
